Brolgas are the very embodiment of elegance in Australian nature, physically imposing, graceful, and dedicated lovers. These birds pair for life and dance to each other daily to reaffirm their special bond. This image was taken on the black soil of the Barkly Tableland following a heavy rainfall and successful breeding season for many birds – the brolgas were certainly happy if their dancing was anything to judge by!
